A Little Bit About Me. . .

 

Hello! I'm Mykal Monroe (pronounced "Michael") and I love to perform! In addition to my love of acting, I adore laughing, writing stage and screen plays, a delicious gourmet meal (both preparing and eating one), anything Meryl Streep, and most importantly my family and friends.

 

I am a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where I received my M.F.A. in Acting. During my matriculation, I learned a little bit about producing and founded my own production company, Mykal Monroe Productions because I realized the traditional actor-for-hire structure is not always going to yield the results I want: me getting the role! When I didn't get the parts I yearned for, I assembled a team of people to help me get my own projects off the ground and thus was the birth of my career as a producer.



I was born in Greensboro, NC and raised in Atlanta, GA (yes I am an "ATL Shawty." If you do not know what that means, look it up.) I am now a member of that ever-growing pool of folks who call New York home and I couldn't be more excited about it! Please note: I am available as a local hire in Atlanta, GA.
